Southeast Christian Church has been around for over 40 years now. In the history of the church, it has only seen a couple of logos. So when creating a new brand, I had to take into high consideration the importance of a look with longevity. Since Southeast is both my place of work and church home, it was an honor as well as a large task to update the brand.
The biggest change came in the form of the typography and icon. The previous logo used a light italic type face intertwined with a prominent cross. Moving away from the cross was a big deal. The new look symbolizes the importance of discipleship at Southeast. The "arrow" icon was inspired from a sense of connectivity through community as well as moving forward, or following, as a disciple. This was a huge project and the church has really reveled in the update.
